Some people say that my landscape photos are bleak. "Where's the sunny weather?" a friend asked a while ago.

Truth is, I like photographing on days like today, when rain falls, wind gusts, skies are grey and forbidding, and waves crash on the shore. Sunny skies are pretty, but big weather has energy and drama and a sense of life as lived on the edge. You know that you're alive.
