Masada
Here is a view at the top of the Masada. A fortress / palace built in 1st or 2nd century BC and enlarged by Herod the Great for his own use in case he needed a place to hide. It was equipped with food and water and other supplies to last a full year. Herod never used it for the purpose but it served as the last Jewish stronghold as they tried to defend themselves against Roman legions in AD 73-74 (says my guidebook).
Masada is very close to the Dead sea and if it weren't for the Blipfoto rules that say that the pictures need to be taken BY you (not OF you) I could have posted a picture of myself floating in the water. :-)
Oh, and for those following my series of goat's beard photos... normal operation will return next week. :-)
