Timna
Todays desert scene is from Timna national park where there are ancient remains of mines dating back to 3000 BC. The egyptians were mining copper here first and then came the nabataeans and the romans.
In addition to the ancient copper mines, this place is famous for its peculiar sandstone formations, shaped by wind erosion. The various colors of the rock also astound me here. A geologist's dream this place must be.
