lavendar sky

while i'm not one to typically take photos of the sky, this one i couldn't resist... it has shades of colors i love so i thought what the heck, let's give it a go. plus the sun was in there.... i've never quite been able to capture the sun - don't know that i've really gotten the hang of it here either... sigh. but you have to try - experiment and so on.... so this is what you get to see today.

my best attempt... suggestions to make it better? ideas on how to get the sun versus just a spot? or is that due to the fact that i'm using a point and shoot camera versus a higher tech one? comments are appreciated....
