New Year Eve

Where has the year gone!!??

But its no use looking back, forward I say.  Opened the newspaper, didn't see my name in the New Year Honours list (or the court notices for that matter), life as normal here on in....ha ha, just joking.

Today we decided to head out to Geraldine for lunch and possibly a blip, however the phone dictated that we turn around and return.  Doug is on call, the Waitaki River is in flood so now we are watching the river flows on the website, I've learnt a little about cumecs (cubic metres of water per second flowing past a fixed point) today. He has now put a 24 hour watch on two wooden bridges built around 1880, those blokes will not enjoy this New Year!!

This landscape is just out the back Timaru, there are higher hills, then mountains but are hidden by the low cloud.  Used HDR, 6 images.  It has come up quite well considering today is overcast with very flat light.  It was a tossup between this and the horses   shown here.

Tonight we are going out for dinner with dups  & Rob, then down to the bay for the concert, carnival and fireworks....boom, pretty boom!!
