Corrida de Sao Silvestre

Took place today on the Avenida Paulista, SP and it's 15km long. It started in 1925 and has never missed a year. In the first year 60 people registered to run it and only 48 turned up! I've got no idea how many ran it today (a lot!) but I do know that tonight 2 million people will be on the avenue to welcome in the new year!! The race today was incredibly well organised and Bb and I had thought we'd have to fight the crowds to get anywhere near the front, but actually it was fine and it felt quite safe and there was a real party atmosphere. As you can see from this shot, there was obviously a police presence. If you look carefully in Bb's shot, the same policeman appears - this wasn't planned at all, just that we happened to chose these two shots separately! Better get ready now as we've got a table booked for 9pm and I can see Bb getting nervous and has already asked me twice, 'do you have to have a shower?'!
