Regularly, here, celebration of every new year is done by the people by way of outdoor picnics in locations specially river sites, lakes, mountains, waterfalls and streams which will go on throughout the first week of January and beyond!

This is one such spot at Sekmai River - going full steam! People thronged here in all kinds of transport available! Most of them cooked their picnic foods here by firewood. Most prefer chicken with rice and Iromba an exquisite hot item.

The river banks dried up during the winter but in rainy season the precarious hanging bridge with a bamboo path is used by the inhabitants to cross over to the hills beyond.
