Traditions

Traditions..............funny things, often illogical and often built up over time where the original reason becomes blurred or forgotten.

So it is with this photo of a drawing of Santa. It was drawn by a family member many years ago. It may even be nearly 20 years ago. But it has remained pinned up on a dining room door since the year it was drawn. It has never been taken down. It sort of became traditional to leave the Santa drawing on the door.

No-one can remember why we decided to leave it. Did we just forget and then never get round to putting it away safely in a box until the next Christmas, and then forgot the next year too? Most probably.

But for sure, we'd all notice now if it were taken down. So.........as usual.........Santa will be on the door all through 2011 patiently waiting to welcome the next Christmas.
