Year of the Numbers?
Could be a well-consulted device this year?
Cost increases across the board - VAT, fuel, rail fares, food (including extra VAT impact on food bills), cost of transporting goods, worsening exchange rates and so on with more to come in the Spring. Counting the cost in £s is one thing, counting the cost in non-£ terms is another.
And quite another is counting the eventual supposed 'upside' or 'benefit' or 'restoration of fiscal health' or whatever other fancy phrase is invented to create a 'its worth it' feeling. Seems to me that 2011 may be a year where more people than usual may pay more careful attention to counting the cost.
Could be a good year for suppliers of calculators.......especially those devices where the tax rate can be added and adjusted regularly.
