Harvesting of major crop - rice came to an end. Barring a few double cropping fields (growing rice twice a year), all paddy fields remain vacant till monsoon (ready for next year's plantings).

However, the west district has been well known for their in-between vast plantings of mustard (for oil) in the vacant paddy fields. Then, it will be the turn of cucumber to coincide with Spring.
