Today A and I went into London to do some sightseeing! It was fun, though I think I was actually more excited about it than she was - although I live near it, it has been years since I did any proper sightseeing! (Also, I do not know London at all, at least, not compared to how I know Paris, so it's always a treat to find out things about it). She wasn't fussed about gong to Buckingham Palace, so we didn't do that, but we saw Covent Garden, the river, the Millennium Wheel, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Waterloo (we got a bit lost), Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Piccadilly Circus (which I have to say, after seeing Times Square over the summer, didn't quite live up to my expectations) and Oxford Street. Not bad, eh? Then A felt ill, so we went home at about 4pm.

The evening was New Year's Eve, which is always my favourite night of the year - not. I don't drink alcohol so it's not really any fun, since the only English tradition for NYE is going out and getting smashed. Anyway, A made me go out and we sat in a pub with a few of my friends for three hours and then went home - exciting! It was quite funny, and I had some nice laughs, but I could have had a better time. My best friend is in Sydney right now, and she was telling me about the fireworks over Harbour Bridge. So jealous!
