I know it's not mine, but I'll see if i can use it
Do you believe in Angels?
Many years ago, when we were a "small" family, we ran into a couple.
We were on holiday - the occurance of which will be the story of another blip cause its a good one - in Fuertuvenura. The Boy was only 3, and Toolibelle was 3 months. We decided to splurge one day, and hired a car. We drove around the pretty volcanic island looking at breaktaking beaches and pretty towns. We stopped for lunch and did a little shopping and then decided to head back, stopping at one of the pretty beaches on the way.
As we drove along the coastal road we looked for the quietest beach, but there really were none. Cars were parked along the verges for as far as we could see at each beach. We had driven past about 6 when we came across a lovely big parking space next to loads of cars and figured we must have just come across a space as someone had left!
We pulled in to park, and then realised very quickly why no one had parked there. It was the softest of sand. Beloved quickly put the car in reverse and try to remove us as quickly as we had pulled in. The tyres spun and buried themselves deep in the sand.
We clambered from the car to examine what could be done. We decided to scrape the sand away to the damp sand; Beloved would push, and I would reverse. We tried to no avail.
We tried just pushing the car, hand brake off, but it just dug itself further and further in. We got paper, and stuck it at the back of the tyres. Beloved started the car again, and got out, to look at where he was going to reverse. As he climbed back in and shut the door, Boy who had also climbed out to examine why mum and dad were loosing it, put his hand at the door.... wham.. Yes. Howling Boy.
I calmed Boy down and kissed away the hurt - it hadn't closed completely on his hand, and it was more of a fright than anything. Beloved, slowly loosing his mind, threw open the car door to see what damage had been done, and caught his knee on the key in the ignition and broke it off at the neck.
The car was still running. Boy was sniffing sorely, Tooli was howling from fright, and probably dehydration. Beloved was almost at heart failure status, and I was getting the video camera out of the bag.
Just as he turned and threatened to ram the video camera into a dark place in my body from whence it would never be retrieved, two visions of beauty appeared beside the car. We have no idea where they came from, they hadn't been there before.
Both were dark skinned with long dark hair, and dressed in white tops and shorts.
"You have problem",
"Yes". We agreed.
"We help - into car, now".
We climbed in, Beloved trying to explain to them that we had already tried, but they smiled warmly and gestured us into the car. We settled Tooli calmed Boy, and Beloved nodded to them through the windscreen.
The two girls, put their hands on the bonnet, and beloved Switched into reverse, and the car as if running on the smoothest tarmac, rolled gently onto the road.
We cheered, we turned, and the girls were gone...
