Ladies leggings
Around the time of the snowy cold weather there was a lot of moaning about the lack of good cold weather gear. Some people in our house have thermals, some don't. Some have thick socks, some only have thin ones. Some have advanced gear, such as salopettes and snow boots, others don't. No one has waterproof gloves and the man of the house has a real issue with suitable footwear for such conditions.
It's all very unfair.
At some point it was discussed that leggings may be as good as Long Johns.
GapKids have now reduced their girls leggings to £1.99 a pair and no one is this house is fussing that, technically speaking, they are 'girls'. Quite the opposite in fact. They are celebrating the fact that they are wearing "ladies leggings" - there's even a special dance you do when you wear them. They have clever little gathered elastic bits at the bottom which prevent them from riding up and they come in neutral colours (although the pink was Orlando's first choice - sadly out of his size).
Fin however already owned girl leggings which were bought for him to be a tin man in last year's school play. They are shiny silver and he often gets them out when he feels like a bit of a prance about.
