Hollow Tree
Wandered across Rodborough Common in the late afternoon sun. A warm soft light on a lone lichen covered tree trunk. There's a hole right through and the sunlight was lighting the dark, damp interior.
We like this tree it looks hunched over from the prevailing south westerlies. Once many years ago when Isabelle was young she did a grand drawing of her little brother and the tree blowing around on a blustery day. It hung on the toilet wall for years until I redecorated recently and replaced it with an Ansel Adams image of Bridal Veil Falls. I recently found out Ansel Adams was a warden at Yosemite for 8 years, I once visited for 3 days, no wonder his pictures are better than mine.
Anyway must remember to find somewhere else to hang Isabelle's picture. She's gone back to Falmouth to University today, we'll miss having her around, but hope to visit her a couple of times in the spring and get to see (and photograph) some Cornish landscape.
