Vote

I am a member of the union at work. Not through choice I must add. We are signed up to it automatically and have to pay union dues every week. It would have been nice to have the choice of joining, but there are many benefits of being a member.

They recently came to an agreement with my employer, the main advantage of which is a series of wage increases over the next few years. I may only be in Canada till the end of July, but with the new agreement my wage will go up 50¢ on Sunday and another 50¢ in April, so it was in my benefit to vote yes.

We should find out the outcome tomorrow, but the word around work is that most people are voting in favour of the agreement.
