A light sprinkling

People back home assume the weather over here is terrible at winter. "So how cold is it?" or "how much snow have you got?" are regular questions. The answer is "not as bad as the UK".

Being on the west coast of Canada, Vancouver pretty much avoids any large snow fall. So, like the UK, when it does happen the place descends into chaos. 

Between 6 and 9 inches were forecast for last night but, as you can see, that never arrived.

Someone on twitter replied at a tweet I made last night about how Vancouver is like the UK and can't handle snow by saying "yes, but at least our airport remains open!"
