Wharf

Our first day at the bay for nearly 2 weeks without any other guests, rather quiet ? So of course we started with another sleep in. Bliss! And then into action.

There were thoughts of a dive before lunch for scallops, but that was delayed, instead went took the tinny out to Wellington Head and did some fishing. Fantastic, schools of kawhai and loads of small kingies (yellowtail). Caught and kept 3 great kawhai, and caught and released for small kingie (50cm, limit is 75 cm). Great fun.

Then back onto the bay, a late lunch (4pm), then out for a scallop dive (another 60) and then out fishing off the rocks at 7pm with the kids.

Lots of fun again, fabulous night and we got 4 snapper, a carb, and very excitingly for the kids ... a squid! Adam teased him in with the bait and then I scooped him up in the bucket.

Back to the house, kids in bed, a late dinner for us (9.30pm).

It was a good day for reflection. What an incredible place this is. Within 10 minutes by boat we were in ocean fishing grounds, to catcg scallops we suited up at the house, walked down to the wharf, jumped in the boat and went out 100m, dived for 20 minutes (at 20m), came back. Walked back to the house in our wetsuits, showered, and then walked around the rocks to go snapper fishing. It truly is paradise, a millionaires paradise, and we'll miss it sorely when it's sold.

In the meantime, enjoy it as much as we can!
