Kayaking

Day 2 on the boat and the bad weather is ? nowhere to be seen! Dawned a glorious day, and unbelievably I was up at 6.30 to watch the sun rising over Coromandel from the cockpit, it was sublime.

And then into the day, serious fishing. Tried several spots off Ponui, out into Firth of Thames, with some success. Caught a few fish, including a large 5ft or so hammershead shark on Hannahs tiny ink rod. I had to help her, and in the end we had to cut it off, but not after we termed it a "hannah-head" shark ;-)

Caught half a dozen snapper and 2 gurnard and then retirted to Bryant's Bay for lunch, from which we didn't' move.

Lots of exploring ashore, kayaking, norie fishing, reading, games, and relaxing.

Weather again was less than perfect for dinner ashore, so another camp oven on board, leg of lamb, yum!

And a more sensible hour to bed ;-)
