A Library in a Library
Portland boasts one of the top five library systems in the country, in terms of annual circulation. There are 18 branches and a large downtown Central Library. There has been a library in this area since 1864, the oldest west of the Mississippi.
This photo was taken at the Hollywood branch, my local. Fully one third of this branch is dedicated to young readers with a huge reading and activity area. Over the winter break the library had a number of planned activities and mini camps. One of the things they did was make a giant mural featuring the library. It is so bright and cheery on these cold winter days.
You can plan on seeing more pictures from here as it is my favorite location in my neighborhood. It is well worth the 8 block walk. Yes, I am lucky!
Happy Blipping!
