Bridge on the...
...River Wey.
I spent the morning in bed with Ian Rankin, Radio 4 and my cold, but rallied after lunch and set off with the dogs to Radford Park on the other side of the village. Basil and I used to go there regularly when he was younger, partly because it's a lovely place and also because it was adjacent to some waste land, an old hospital site, that had gone wild and was great for a longer walk.
We stopped going when the waste land was acquired and developed into a retirement village but I thought it would be nice to pop back for a look.
It's still a lovely place for a stroll, but incredibly muddy at the moment so the dogs will be having a bath later (they probably should have had one sooner, although I did get them to go for a paddle in the river, which helped). I'll have to go back some time when the light is better - it's been horribly grey and dull here again today - but I won't take the dogs again until conditions have dried out a bit!
PS - I saw a couple of squirrels while I was there and, as usual, they ran up a tree and well away from me and the dogs. Here is the definitive guide to squirrel blipping from Mischa who has got it off to a very fine art!
