Strawbear...

Today was the day of Strawbear! For those, and I think that could be most of you, not in the know this a festival my little home town is, almost, famous for. A man and a boy dressed in straw and made to dance through the town to celebrate making it through the winter and other such rural customs. There's plenty of dancing, drinking and wild cries. Oh, and stick hitting. These are the Red Leicesters who traditionally 'red' all the girls.

When you grow up with this it seems like the most normal, ish, of things. For an outsider the site of a man feeding his cardboard horse bitesize Shredded wheat is odd. Is it even odder that for me it wasn't?
