This little boy is very tired...
Hi peeps!
It was good to get my hands back on a few routes at Ratho today. There's a load of new stuff set, which is really necessary at the moment, as all of the routes that have been set over thecold snap are now just incredibly greasy with the condensation. The new holds that arrived aweek or so ago are just the antidote for a winter of bouldering (although only occasionally for me!).
I'm just about holding my eyes open writing this. The combination of a busy week and a half back from winter holidays, and some much needed physical exertion today has left me hanging. Mind you I wasn't much better last night, either. Watched Avatar in the evening with a Domino's takeaway. Couldn't have managed much else- it was the first time I'd sat down to relax in almost fortnight. Testament to how good the film was that I kept awake for the whole thing- I could think of plenty of films that I'd have slept through yesterday!
Following on from my slightly depressed sounding rant last Saturday, this blip is definitely not a complaint. I've actually had a great week. But one that has left me needing to recharge now. Hence lying in bed to type. The light goes off as soon as I've finished!
Sunday was great- I was preaching in the City Church in Edinburgh, and after all the effort I put in leading up to it, things just clicked. God is good!
That evening I had some friends around for dinner. They were after some help producing promotional material for the summer for a venture they are planning. It was great to find a practical use for my interests in helping a coupe mates out. The kind of skills I have often seem quite useless in that regard-to specialist, and in no way "handy"...
Then into the breach of the working week, which was about as hectic as they come for me. I'm usually quite religious at leaving at 5pm, but not so this week. Again, no complaints, I wasn't asked to stay, but had stuff I wanted to get done. And I did. So that made me smile.
So, amongst all that, I kinda forgot to blip. And for once, this is even the only photo I took today... usually once I start, the floodgates open. Just not today.
Well, I'll call an end to the day now, and look forward to catching up on the journals I have missed this week come the morning.
