Woodstock Square

Woodstock Square located in the heart of McHenry County, IL is one of my most favorite places. The two most famous buildings are the Old Courthouse and The Opera House. The Courthouse was built in 1857. The one way steet around the square is paved in brick. In the center of the square is a large park with a couple of gazebos.

Yesterday I went up to the square to see a gallery showing at the Opera House. A friend's daughter was exhibiting her photography for the first time. It was a wonderful show! I haven't been up to the square in a number of years so I had to take a few shots.

Though the Courthouse and the Opera House are not shown in this image...it was actually the best shot of the day. I was not dressed to be out in the cold...and unfortunately it was obvious that I was rushing my shots. I'll go back when it gets warm.
