Venitian Arrival

Much of the day was spent in transit today, hence the rather unimaginative photo. We caught the train from Florence to Venice, along with a 50 Euro fine each for a) not making a reservation for the train and b) accidentally sitting in first class for the start of the trip. Needless to say, it was not a great start to the day.

I had really been looking forward to Venice. Everyone says such good things about it and I was ready and waiting to have my mind blown. However, Mother Nature was evidently not as ready, and decided to have it rain the entire time we were there. Today included the travel, a trip to the closest laundromat, and a delicious dinner of pizza and pasta at a restaurant a few doors down from our hotel on Lido Island.
