Old Lamp.....

I love this old alabaster lamp that sits in my study.....it has a lovely history!
It belonged to the mother of one of my dearests friends - Beth! When Beth's mother had to downsize, and move into a more supportive environment, she gave away lots of her belongings......Beth ended up with a basement full of furniture etc. When my daughters had to move away from home (about 5 years ago) to go to college, Beth offered them to come and take whatever they needed! They got a couple of lovely chairs, a table, a bookcase etc.....and they were offered these stunning old alabaster lamps, which used to belong to Beth's grandmother! I was watching this and had my eye on them.....the girls found them a bit too old fashioned....but i encouraged them to take them. Once we got home, they were both quite sure they didn't want to take these old lamps to their new townhouse.
So, i had 2 very contemporary (also very cheap!) lamps that had been in the house for many years....we decided to do a trade! I was ecstatic!

I love the feel of them, the weight of them....the creamy whiteness of them....one is by my bed and one is in my study!
