St. Anne's Bay.
We've been snow bound for the past few days, and I was beginning to feel the need to explore outside Big Hill. I headed down to Baddeck, for a coffee at the Bean There....lots of locals having their morning coffee and chatting...it was very pleasant. I'm certainly feeling more at home each time I go somewhere and I recognise someone i know......and meet new folks....it's a lovely feeling.
There was lots of talk about a local guy named Bob, who is perhaps in his late 60's and lives alone outside town. I've never met Bob, but I know who he is cos i've seen him many times in the little library in Baddeck. Apparently he goes in there most days, so when 2-3 days passed without him appearing, the librarians Kate and Larry got worried. So Larry headed over to his home, couldn't get in and called the police. Bob had suffered an aneurysm and was on the floor in a very disoriented state! Poor guy had been there perhaps for 2 days! He has been airlifted to Halifax Hospital and is at this moment undergoing surgery. All of this to point out the amazing community that exists in small areas......it's sad to think that maybe if he lived in a large city, him missing a few days at the library might have gone unnoticed.
Anyway, after coffee, i headed out to a few of my favorite places, Englishtown, and St. Anne's Bay.....it continued to snow most of the time i was wandering around!
