January Moon

In an effort to play about with my camera I made use of the moon offering itself up as a ready and willing model tonight. Put the camera on the tripod, attached the 55-300 lens, turned the dial to A and tried many combinations of + this and - that, f something and ISO up and down until I got something that was more than a bright white blob on the screen.

Had a whinge to Mr Crafty that the clouds weren't showing up in the picture at which point he started blinding me with photography science about taking more than one exposure and doing something clever with post processing techniques. I'm thinking that's more suited to a full moon in the summer time once I've had a bit more practice.
