7am Check-in Manchester. 10 hour delay. Whisked into town to the Palace Hotel, a beautiful old insurance company headquarters. Refuge Assurance, appropriate? Anyway, breakfast, lunch, cards. We were going to go across the road to watch The Kings Speech to kill a few hours but in the end we just drank wine. So predictable.

They've filmed a few Coronation St scenes here, I recognised it. Shame there's a light out on the ceiling but hey ho ...
