Perching shag by the river

Not a lot happening in the bird world today, think they must be affected as we are by the grey days and the aftershocks!

though I managed to somehow sleep through last night's one! Couldn't believe it.

This pied shag was sitting among the flax on the other side of the river - waited but it wasn't interested in being interesting!! So it's a portrait. Or still life!!

the light is terrible, no life at all, grey and dull.
