This is a mirror image of one of the pieces of redwood what were shot several 100 ft from the huge tree behind our house that was struck by lightning at the end of November (see the blip for the picture). Its only become uncovered from the mound of snow recently. We found other bits the other side of the house in the garden flowerbeds.lucky no windows were taken out.
It's rather beautiful since it changes colour depending on dampness.
