In all those Geography lessons being told about freeze-thaw, no one ever mentioned this phenomenon: flood-freeze. These footprints in are in the silt left by the Ouse when it burst it's banks with all last weekend's rain. The mud has now frozen and the footprints look like they will last for millions of years and be excitedly discovered by future fossil collectors.
