Pharmacy

I can't quite believe that I've managed to post more than 80 Blips and yet this is the first time I've snapped this building. It's the old pharmacy building in Chorio (the village) and hasn't been used for some time. I'm surprised I haven't Blipped this before as it is one of the most well known landmarks in Symi's upper town and is always included on guided walks. There used to be some old pharmaceutically (is that a word?) jars and bottles in the windows and I was a little disappointed that they are no longer there - I wonder when they disappeared?

While I was out this morning, I encountered something very rare - a small group Lesser Spotted January Tourists. Very easy to spot when they are around because while I was wearing 2 jumpers, a parka and wellingtons (it's been raining almost continuously for the last 2 days) - they were all in light shirts and trainers. Not a coat in sight and nothing remotely waterproof. I think people forget that we're in the northern hemisphere so in January we're in the middle of winter. I wish I'd been brazen enough to grab a couple of shots of them or even asked them what on earth they were doing in Symi in January.
