Well I'm not going out in THAT!!

The whole time I was getting getting ready for work this morning, I could see flashes of lightning and hear claps of thunder so loud they rattled the windows. A few minutes before I was due to leave it started to rain and then, just as I was about to put my wellies and coat on, it started to hail. Big, hard drops. There was no way I was heading out of the house in that but fortunately these hail showers never last more than a couple of minutes. What you see here is a, not very good or pretty, picture of some of the hail stones where they landed and had begun to melt.

The forecast was for 'light rain'. What can we expect if they forecast heavy rain?
