Portsmouth Cathedral

Easy like Sunday morning - or that what Oliver thought after all the strenuous excercise of yesterday. Emmas mum wanted to pop into Southsea to purchase a bit of pink - just in case she has to hurry back down to Portsmouth over the next few weeks. We all agreed to go out together, but found Oliver asleep on the setee!

So, Nana tried to escape and couldn't get the car started (flat battery), so she called the RAC and had to wait for them to arrive. Turns out there's some electrical fault which drains the battery even when the keys are removed. She thinks its something that happened after she stalled the other day and gave the ignition some abuse. I offered her the services of my wee Corsa, but she wasn't keen, so in the end Emma and I decided to make our escape for a spot of lunch while Nana waited for the RAC to turn up. She did offer - honest - we didn't just leave her to it.

Monks brasserie in Old Portsmouth was the venue of choice today as they offer a lovely Sunday roast, but more importantly - PROPER PUDDINGS! I chose jam roly poly, while Emma had bread and butter pudding. Well, it may be the last time we get a chance of a meal for two for a while!

This place was just opposite and was crying out for a blip. I must confess that this is the closest we came to Sunday worship, but its beautiful medieval architecture was definetely worth a look.

Anyway, we couldn't spend too long looking as we needed to get back. When we returned, the car had been sorted (for now anyway) and everyone was happy. In the end, Emma took her mum down to Southsea in the Focus while I took Oliver to Toys R Us to offload some of his birthday money. All in all, a random day, but overall - an excellent weekend!

In fact, to reflect Olivers mood this morning, I just had to add this.
