Buddha flower

Visting one of the temples this afternoon I came across these incredible blooms. They seemed to unravel in fantastic pink directly from the trunk of the tree. Amazing and ususual.

When I asked one of the local monks what they call this tree, they could only tell me it is the tree the Buddha was born under and the flowers he walked upon as his platform.
