the eyes again

I have a lovely photo of Katie (with no shoes) prancing around with Monkey (with shoes - Grandad felt he should wear them, Katie agreed). But as I played on the computer, i just love her eyes too much to not use this one -despite it's grain and poor quality. They make me gooey everytime they look up at me, so here they are again. Plus she didnt want to stand still whilst prancing with Monkey. And doing 'Up jumps' - the dingle dangle scarecrow song, over and over.
We had a bit of an early start today, out and about by 8.15 getting a couple of jobs done and a walk but it was rainy and miserable so were both glad to get back in the car and to Morrison's for a cuppa and second breakfast. In all the baby books, it says about the importance of them being able to stack one brick on top of the other. Katie will occasionally do it, but finds it hugely dull- knocking them down is way more fun. However, after several trips to cafes with granny and grandad, Katie has proved her ability at tower making - using those little plastic milk cartons. She now won't settle in the highchair when they're on the table until she has her own pile to make a tower.
She was really tired and had a good sleep when we got home before we went out to do the bank, post office etc. We took some nappies up to a friend and stayed for coffee and a good play.
We got home and gave Katie her tea (which she troughed - she must be considering a serious bit of growing, I think, plus she's doing pretty well at sleeping in the night, so is taking less milk) before a nice visit from Granny and Grandad. They turned up with a present for Katie - a tambourine that lights up and flashes. Only it wouldn't stop flashing. So I closed the kitchen door and left it in there, flashing away. Two hours later, once Katie was in bed, I discovered a teeny tiny button. Yup. The off one.
