Is it possible...

that somewhere out in that big old universe there is a place where

* budgets AREN'T cut, whilst expecting 'challenging' externally set targets still to be met?
* where ALL young people do as they are told and the word "Why?" is not uttered, except with a polite tone of voice in a context where it is appropriate to ask?
* where a red light on a traffic light really does mean "ok lady driver in your BMW that has your nose stuck to the steering wheel, it really is time to use the middle pedal (that's the brake you know) and STOP before you almost run someone off the road" ?
* where, just as some poor amateur astronomer sets her telescope up and settles in with a brew and her star charts, the clouds don't suddenly appear from nowhere?

Surely, that's possible. Another dimension where the opposite of what is happening here occurs?

Saying that though, in that dimension, they wouldn't have the remarkable people that I work with, who surprise me with their resilience and ability, despite tough days, external pressures and the joys of hormonal youngsters, to find humour and share laughter at the end of a very long day.

So, to be fair, stuff all the random annoying things. I think we got the better end of the deal.

Wave to the parallel universe and send your sympathies :-)
