~Window Reflection On A Purple Wall~
~Handrail and Sconce~
This was found next to a stairway in the La Placita Village.
I posted an image from there last week as well, "Urbanism".
This village is fast becoming one of my favorite locations.
The colors and shapes are only exceeded by the photo-ops.
This won't be my last visit to this downtown Tucson location.
I visited the The Center for Creative Photography today.
It's locate at the University of Arizona campus in Tucson.
Their having a Ansel Adams exhibit in there main gallery.
Probably 40 some images on display, a broad over view of his work.
All the photographs were taken between the 1910's and the 1980's.
And all were printed by him, sizes ranged for 3"x 3" to 30"x 40".
Also saw an example of a final print and a print without manipulation.
The straight negative print bore no relationship to the final print.
I mean the major elements where present but with no life in the print.
The straight print had no range, no depth and definitely no soul.
Adams' greatness was in his ability to pre-visualize the final image.
And the unparalleled magic he would worked in the darkroom.
Just amazing, the detail in both the highlights and the shadows.
I wasn't able to view any of his work unframed and not matted.
I had anticipated doing this today but I made a serious mistake.
You need to make an appointment and select some images to view.
This I didn't know, so I will be returning to the archives, prepared.
So, what image of his would you choose to view up close?
This was a fantastic experience seeing his original work.
Well, goodnight and see you soon my friends.
