Hereafter

Today we went off to see Hereafter, Clint Eastwood's latest directorial offering.

At 2hrs & 9mins it is overlong and feels like an idea that would be hard pushed to keep an audience entertained over 85 minutes and the stretched very thinly, 'like too little butter scraped over bread', to quote Bilbo Baggins.

It is quite a dreary affair for long periods and flattered to deceive with a good beginning only for it to fall flat for the next 90 minutes. It does have a nice ending, though.

All great runs come to an end and that counts for even the likes of the great Clint Eastwood.
