1. It's quite dark so you might not be able to see, but this is the bike that Colin is riding in the Tour de France this year. It arrived this morning and here it sits in my hall. It's not the best photo but this bike will never be this white again, never as new, never as untouched. It's the start of a journey.

2. I had another photo that I was planning on using today. That picture was of blue skies and the point I wanted to make with it was something about Glasgow. I can, given half the chance, really moan about this city. Sometimes, you just have to adjust thigns slightly. I will probably go into more depth at another time.

3. This might sound daft. I write good copy. It's what I do, but I don't have to do it any more. Instead I look at other people's copy. Today, just as the day closed I wrote a belter - three or four paragraphs that I guaratee will make people buy tickets. It's what I do.

4. A Friday night. Here we are, something wonderful on the hob just about to land on my plate. Nick Cave providing the sound track and Friday Fizz in full force.

5. Nick Cave. I realise I haven't mentioned music too much. But he is my soundtrack at the moment. My internal jukebox.
