Invasion of the Electric Pepper Pots

Bearing in mind we're running out of oil, are due a war over resources (now that will be quite a fireworks display) and generally long, slow decline in our current way of life, one matter remains a great mystery to me: How the hell are we going to survive without mod cons like these??????
