In-between the seconds

Should be in a museum

I went to have lunch with friends and friends of friends today, lunch à la française. So 12h30 mise en bouche with fizz 13h starter, 13h45 main course 14H30 cheese and finally at 15H dessert and café. All with lots of wine (crozes hermitage 2004 for those interested) So by four o'clock all you want to do is sleep.

All was wonderful, especially the plates. They are over 200 years old, so that is Napoleon the 3rd. (shhhh don't mention the war) Passed down to our host from his fathers side of family. I stood flabbergasted as he put them in the dishwasher!
