Babies on Ice

15 months 12 days

We went for one of our long walks this morning. Katie was particularly taken with one cat who walked up to us, she (Katie!) got very excited and did some serious arm flapping.

She didnt' fall asleep in the car, which wasn't how the plan was supposed to go, but never mind! We went into a couple of shops and then went to costa to give her lunch. She had her first babyccino and was very excited. Drinking warm cows milk is a new development for her, she's taken to it this past few days with gusto.

After lunch it was time for skating. She was delighted to see Ava. She had a super good run round on the ice before insisting on pushing Ava on the quad. In fact, whenever she saw Ava was riding on anything, she wanted to push her. They had a little play at hockey - I was amazed that although we didn't show them, they picked up the sticks and hit the balls. How is hitting a ball with a stick instinctive?! They put their skates on, but I couldnt get any photos of that. Katie took a couple of minutes to remember what was going on with the skates, but then happily had a go round on them. She didnt wear them very long this week, she was shattered. She chased round in her shoes a bit longer before running round the outside of the rink a couple of times!

Needless to say, as soon as she was in the car, she zonked. We had a meeting to go to, which went really well, but she slept the whole way through it! As we arrived home, Granny and Grandad were pulling up for a bit of a play, to Katie's delight. She's such a funny little thing, she remembers every single little game her and my dad come up with - that he always has a pen and glasses in his top pocket for her to get out, that they put her shoes on monkey last time, that she uses his pen to try draw on her butterfly rocker....

Come bed time, it took very little before my girl was fast asleep, snuggled up to Monkey.
