The Jarvis appreciates a good bar that does not advertise itself or beg for passing trade in an unseemly fashion. Bar Jardi in Barcelona takes non-advertising to new levels - in fact it has a series of outer defences and psychic barriers designed to deter non-Jarvises from entering. To get to it you must enter a large archway guarded by a life-size papier-mache camel, make your way through a chamber with violently strobing lights, pass through a bazaar selling skateboard accessories, marijuana pipes and studded leather wristbands and other stuff best left to alienated teenagers and climb a flight of stairs that looks like it leads nowhere. . . if you make it that far, you are rewarded with one of the most tranquil and relaxed bars in Europe.
