Stranger than fiction!
Today was the big day for# 2 daughter's 18th birthday. Celebrations began on Thurs, then continued onto Friday then culminated in a massive fancy dress house party on Sat.
In between all this comontion and everyone haveing a shower, putting finishing touches to costumes etc, I happened to walk past the upstairs bathroom. For no apparent reason I put my index finger on one of the huge black vitriolite tiles above the bath and lo! it moved, closer inspection showed that the grouting was looking a bit loose. I said to my eldest daughter who was next to use the shower to use the downstairs one as I thought one of the black tiles was looking a bit loose. She did as I asked and another lass went into the upstair bathroom (I had told them all to use the downstairs one by this time) anyhow this lass went in just to comb her hair, she shut the door and BANG.....3 of the black tiles crashed into the bath. We had only recently put in a shower about 6 months ago and I think the constant use and steam it created loosened the beautifull big black tiles about 12X8 and half an inch thick. If my daughter or anyone else had been having a shower without doubt the tiles and the shards it created could have had tragic circumstances! As it was I went in to look at the tiles and just put my hand up to one on the next row and it too came crashing down slicing my finger in the passing. With blood and shards of tiles everywhere the place was beginning to look like a disaster zone. Anyhows, I got my finger sorted and decided to leave the broken tiles etc and I will get the guy that put the new tiles up above the old ones to remove the old ones up to the sink and replace them with newer ones.
The real spooky thing was the fact that I was drawn to stop and look at the tiles in the first place. What was it that guided me to do that and in doing so avert a possible targedy.
As it was the party went ahead, lasted till 5am and as you can see from the picture....meet my family, hubby, myself,#1son #1 daughter and the birthday girl
My your day be guided by good spirits Amen
