Absent friend

It was generally a relaxing sort of Sunday - a few light chores, but then up to the Cask and Barrel mid-afternoon to watch Aberdeen v Dunfermline. It was all very enjoyable apart from the sheep sh*ggers getting lucky in the ninety second minute. After a delicious Chinese take-away I was intending to relax even further on to the sofa, when I spotted this link to a song that Catherine had posted on the internet.

Jo Ann Kelly. Oh, that voice. It's been over twenty years since she died. This is what she sounded like when I first heard her, in about 1969. The last time I heard her sing was at South Hill Park in Bracknell, in the summer of 1990 - her version of Dock Boggs' "Death Have Mercy" was particularly striking. Death did not have mercy; she died a couple of months later.
