The Meall or 'Lump' in Portree.
This is where the annual Highland Games are played each summer. You can easily see the amphiteater. It may be hard to believe but the day the games are held there will be over 4000 people up there watching along with all the associated burger vans etc.
Really this day is the highlight of the summer season and as a local restauranteur I rarely get to see the games as we are kept pretty busy usually in our restaurant. Let us hope this year that once again the audience will be blessed with a warm sunny day with a little breeze; just enough to keep the midges off!
