Sun deception
So often in Toronto the sun shines and yet it is hideously cold.
Ami and I had fun at Quinto's, mainly sitting on one chair next to the table of decorative looking (but also very tasty) food. Quinto's flatmate's adorable nephew was running around and asking for food from the table but people were smoking around him and I found that hard to watch. Smoking indoors generally is kind of gross.
Anyway, we chatted to this Ukrainian guy who was there and I learnt some interesting facts - he's going to Saskatoon in rural and pretty uninhabited Saskatchewan, where apparently 15% of the population are from the Ukraine! Weird. He asked us what we wanted to achieve in the next five years. Ami said: write a book. I said: become fluent in French and Spanish. He said: become a millionaire. Strange answer seeing as he was the one who asked the interesting question, so you'd think he'd have more of an interesting response.
So I argued my socialist claims that money does not contribute to happiness and it was a good discussion, in fact.
Talked to Daniel on skype for a couple of hours (we both seem to have equally strange sleep patterns, meaning time difference is kind of taken for granted) and went to bed happy happy.
Sunday I really did very little, which is why this photo is taken out the window. I made Daniel's Valentine card for most of the day, skyped with Mum and Dad for ages and did some work.
