Dr. J's Day

Venice - Day 3

Our LAST day of our European vacation :(

H&M left in the morning and Jer & I had the whole day to ourselves. I have to say that 3 days in Venice is a little too much and could have extended the trip by an extra day elsewhere....but when in Venice....

We had a coffee at the Sweet & Snack bar (where we enjoyed our first spritzes the night before), and then walked around. We then had a breakfast slice of pizza and then decided that we were going to head back for a little nap before lunch.

After our nap we walked around some more before settling at the Omnibus Cafe for lunch. The skies really opened up at this point and it was raining even harder then it had been the whole time since we have been in Venice. Jer & I shared a caprese salad, and he had a pizza with prosciutto & arugula, and I had a pasta with monkfish and prawns. We also shared a bottle of rose.

We knew we had to have coffee at the famous Caffe Florian while we were in Venice, so we did (but had hot chocolate and tea instead). It was the perfect time to go because everyone was hiding indoors from the rain. H said it'd be the most expensive coffee we'd have, and he was right, 15 euros each for our drinks, but it was nice to say that we were there. And Jer did say it was probably the best hot chocolate he's ever had.

We managed to squeeze in a little rest before heading out for the evening.

Another stop at the Sweet and Snack bar for a couple more spritzes, and then our last dinner was at Il Teatro once again. This time we shared the carbonara pizza and the florentine steak. And some rose, of course.

After not eating that portion of meat in almost a year (not counting the steak we ate the previous week), it takes all my entire body to digest that amount of meat, so yet again I had to just go back to the hotel and sleep.

Good night and arrivederci.
