Spa Day

15 months 20 days

For Christmas, one of Mummy's friends bought six of us a spa day. I didn't think I'd be able to go, due to lack of childcare. On Tuesday, this friend had a brainwave. Why not take Katie too. The result? A wonderful day, really special.

We set off mid morning, Katie slept the whole journey. We got there in time for brunch. A lovely meal in a rather nice hotel, bottle of champagne between us all (adults!), although smallest of glasses for this mummy.

From there, we went to the swimming pool. Which was where Katie spent the entire afternoon. She had a blast and was so very good. I had taken books, toys, crayons. I didn't even get them out. She just swam, apart from when she had a bit of a snack. She did at least a dozen lengths of the pool, just in her first stretch in the pool. She was also blowing lots of bubbles in the water, which is what she's doing in the photo.

She played really well with Aunty Julie and Mummy got to have her first ever facial, and a head and shoulder massage. Bliss. Her and I went to the jacuzzi for a bit, she sat on the edge with her legs dangling in so she didn't get too hot and spent ages splashing the bubbles. She played on the side for half an hour with the girls, so I also managed to do some proper swimming, which felt great.

Bless her, when we loaded her back in the car, she ate some sandwich but was so wiped she was falling asleep with it in her mouth, so I took it off her and she went to sleep, for the whole journey back as well. She's eaten some tea and now wants to sit in her rocker eating cream cheese from the tub.

She really was a star, she had a fantastic time as well as mummy getting some relaxing time too and she was so so good.
